Privacy Policy
JuntoSpeak teaches you to speak a new language out loud. We built it to need as little of your personal information as possible, and this page explains — in plain language — exactly what we collect and why.
The short version
- You can use JuntoSpeak without creating a traditional account — we assign an anonymous, random ID.
- Your email is optional. If you share it, we use it to keep your progress linked and to send you course emails. Reply "unsubscribe" to any email and we stop.
- Speech recognition happens on your device. Your practice audio is not uploaded for recognition.
- We show no ads, sell no data, and use no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
What we collect
- An anonymous account ID. Created automatically so your progress can be saved. It is a random identifier, not your name.
- Email address (optional). If you enter it, we store it to link your progress across devices and to send you learning emails (welcome, progress nudges, streak milestones). Emails are delivered through Resend, our email provider.
- Learning progress. Lessons completed, review items, and streaks — synced to your account so you never lose your place. Stored with Supabase (hosted in the United States).
- Feedback you send. Messages you submit through the 💬 feedback button, so we can read them and improve the app.
Your microphone and voice
- The microphone is used so you can practice speaking. Speech recognition runs on your device — the audio of your voice is not sent to our servers for recognition.
- Recording your practice attempts is off by default. If you opt in, recordings are saved privately, you can review and delete any clip, and nothing is ever posted or shared automatically.
- Lesson audio you hear is generated by our speech server. Those requests contain only the lesson phrase being spoken — no personal information.
What we don't do
- No selling or renting of personal data. Ever.
- No advertising networks, no cross-app tracking, no third-party analytics SDKs.
- No automatic posting to any platform.
Deleting your data
Ask any time and we will delete your account and everything associated with it — email, progress, and recordings. Use the 💬 feedback button in the app or reply to any JuntoSpeak email with your request.
Children
JuntoSpeak is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above. Meaningful changes will also be announced in the app.
